Proposal Details Machine
Freedom Machine Tool Patriot machine is an industrial-quality 3-axis
5' x 10' moving gantry CNC router with 7" of Z-axis travel and is
capable of maximum rapid feed rates of 1,200 inches per minute.
Machine Construction
Freedom Machine Tool Patriot machines are constructed of a rigid,
fabricated steel base, utilizing heavy gauge steel tube and plate
weldment construction throughout. All structural members are stress
relieved for maximum stability, and all surfaces that mount precision
components are precision ground and/or machined.
Spindle
Customers may choose from several industrial quality spindle
options including wrench style collet spindles and push-button
automatic tool change spindles.
X-Axis
The X-axis is the bridge axis and moves left to right. The heavy duty
bridge will span the 60inch dimension. Actual stroke is 61 inches.
Maximum feed rate is 800 inches per minute. Bridge rails are 25 mm
profiled ways with recirculating ball bearings. The X-axis is driven by
a 25mm recirculating ball screw assembly. The ball screw spins and
is supported on each end by angular contact bearings.
Y-Axis
The Y-axis is the gantry axis and moves front to back. The gantry
spans the 60 inch left-to-righttable dimension, and travels the 120
inch front-to-back table dimension. The total stroke is 121 inches.
Maximumfeed rate is 800 inches per minute. The table rails are 30
mm profiled ways with recirculating ball bearings. The Y-axis is
driven by a 40mm recirculating ball screw assembly. The ball screw
spins and is supported on each end by angular contact bearings.
Z-Axis
The Z-axis is ball screw driven and supported by air cylinder counter
balances.

Industrial Controls System
Fagor 8037 3-axes CNC Controller fully compatible with CAD/CAM
software and featuring a color 7.5′′ LCD monitor, 1 MB base memory,
512 MB compact flash Drive, 3D graphics, TCP / IP Ethernet, USB and
serial port connections, and a complete set of Fagor manuals on CD.
Controller is driven by Fagor closed-loop brushless AC servo motors
and servo amplifiers on all axes.
Utilities
Power requirements for machine only
220 Volts, 3-Phase, 60 HZ. Amps are determined by final machine
configuration. (1-phase option available for purchase)
Compressed air requirements
5 CFM at 90 PSI (Static) Note: tool change spindles require a
minimum of 95 PSI to ensure proper tool release. Additional air
devices will change CFM requirements. Customer is responsible for
providing the compressed air.
Dust collection
Recommend 1,000 CFM at the spindle. Dust collection is not required
for all machines. Client may choose to purchase a dust collector
and/or piping system as an option. The client is responsible for the
installation, hoses and service connections.
Vacuum
Vacuum is not required for all machines. Client may choose to
purchase a vacuum pump as an option. The client is responsible for
the installation, hoses and service connections.
Set-Up
Freedom Machine Tool Patriot machine set-ups are performed at the
customer site by Freedom Machine Tool certified technicians.
Set-Up & Training Option 1:
1 day machine set-up and 2 days of training at the customer facility,
for a total of 3 consecutive days.
Set-Up & Training Option 2:
1 day machine set-up and 1 day of training at the customer facility,
for a total of 2 consecutive days.
Set-Up & Training Option 3:
1/2 day machine set-up and 1/2 day of training at the customer
facility, for a total of 1 day.
